Memory Care
We offer those in need of Memory Care an innovative, immersive environment where residents can truly thrive. Our secure Memory Care neighborhood, called Harmony Park, located on the third floor of Lorien Harmony Hall’s Assisted Living community, is thoughtfully designed to enhance sensory comfort, with every detail supporting calm, connection, and emotional well-being for individuals living with memory loss. From our tactile wall to an array of soothing lighting options in common areas, our goal is to keep residents feeling grounded, engaged, and respected throughout their day. With access to enhanced care options, like gourmet pureed food for those with dysphagia, psychiatric services provided by Hope Psych Services LLC, and a Wander Guard safety system, our residents experience quality care that upholds dignity, purpose, and compassion, all within the capable hands of our compassionate team. We are proud to be the first and only community in the state of Maryland to receive the Purple Flag excellence in dementia care accreditation, reinforcing our commitment to meeting the highest standards in Memory Care.
Dialysis
Lorien offers Maryland’s only on-site dialysis center in an assisted living community, serving residents at Harmony Hall and Columbia as well as those in the surrounding community. Residents can receive care without leaving campus, enjoying a comfortable, familiar setting with massage chairs, TVs, and large windows. By reducing travel, improving continuity, and meeting high-quality standards, Lorien Kidney Care reflects our ongoing commitment to innovative, compassionate, resident-focused care
Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive movement disorder affecting nearly 1 million Americans, and while there is no cure, advances in medication, surgery, and rehabilitation offer hope and support. Lorien Encore is proud to be Maryland’s first Parkinson’s Certified Community, demonstrating our commitment to enhancing residents’ lives through specialized therapy, advanced staff training, and community support. In partnership with the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Alliance and the Parkinson’s Foundation of the National Capital Area, we offer supervised exercise classes, yoga, boxing, support groups, and educational opportunities—both for residents and the surrounding community. Through innovative inpatient and outpatient therapy programs, Lorien Encore empowers seniors with Parkinson’s to maintain function, independence, and a meaningful, engaged life.
Home Care
Lorien at Home offers seniors with comprehensive, customizable home care from our compassionate licensed caregivers and companions. Our mission is to meet our clients where they are and foster comfort through the caring hands of our compassionate team. Whether you just encountered an unexpected medical event and need assistance on the road to recovery, or you have found a need for companionship and extra help, our hourly program provides customized care with no minimum days required, allowing you to choose when you need us.
Tracheotomy & Ventilation
If your loved one cannot breathe or has difficulty breathing on their own, our specialized Ventilator Care facilities can provide respiratory support through a series of treatments. These treatments are designed to deliver the appropriate amount of therapy, increase comfort and gradually reduce their dependency on the equipment. We also offer ventilator care at home for select respiratory needs.
Korean Senior Care
Lorien is proud to offer culturally inclusive Korean Senior Care to residents at Lorien Harmony Hall and Lorien Columbia. With Korean speaking team members, traditional food and entertainment, our residents feel a deep connection to their culture and community, embracing what feels like home.
